About the Role – Software Engineer (UI Developer)
As a Software Engineer – UI Developer at Alkira, you will play a key role in developing software for Alkira’s Cloud Services Exchange (CSX). This position involves designing, developing, and debugging web and mobile user interfaces that power Alkira’s networking functions.

Key Responsibilities
As part of the Engineering R&D team, your responsibilities will include:
- Web Development: Build innovative and high-performing web experiences using React, Redux, and Hooks.
- Software Design: Design and develop scalable, reliable web applications and component libraries for enterprise cloud solutions.
- User Experience: Internalize the user perspective to promote usability and accessibility in every interface.
- Agile Development: Build flexibility and customization from the start; adapt quickly to evolving product requirements.
- Database & APIs: Understand relational databases such as PostgreSQL and work with REST APIs.
- Automation & Testing: Add and improve test coverage through end-to-end, integration, and unit test suites.
- Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a geographically distributed team while managing your own time efficiently.
- Continuous Integration: Familiarity with Git, CI/CD tools, and modern development pipelines.
Eligibility & Skills Required
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or equivalent) in Computer Science (CS) or Electrical Engineering (EE).
Technical Requirements:
- Strong JavaScript programming and debugging skills.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and operating systems.
- 6 months or more of internship or professional experience with React/Redux or modern JavaScript frameworks preferred.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS3, and JavaScript (including asynchronous programming, closures, ES6, and types).
- Understanding of CSS preprocessors like Less/Sass in large-scale applications.
- Experience with Node.js API development is a plus.
- Knowledge of UI testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Cypress is required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across locations.
