Key Job Responsibilities
As a Backend Software Development Engineer at BrowserStack, you will:
- Design, develop, and support scalable systems and applications used by a large global developer community.
- Take end-to-end ownership of tasks from development to production deployment and support.
- Collaborate within an agile engineering team to plan and execute technical projects that meet business requirements.
- Participate in a culture of code reviews and collaborate closely with other engineers to drive best practices.
- Diagnose and solve complex, real-world problems effectively, including production-level issues.
- Help with the design, implementation, and launch of key product features.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (2025 passout) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Software development or programming experience in the form of an internship of 6 months – 1 year.
- Strong understanding and proficiency with at least one language: Ruby, Node.js, Python, Java, or C/C++.
- Good knowledge of operating systems, databases, networking concepts, and deployment processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees in both technical and non-technical roles.
- A startup mentality: high willingness to learn, hardworking, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Expertise
Candidates with experience or knowledge in the following are highly preferred:
- Technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Working on both Windows and Linux platforms below the application layer (file systems, kernels, scripting, internal APIs).
- Building and debugging large-scale, distributed systems.
