About the Role – Trainee Engineer (Quality Assurance)
The Trainee Engineer (Quality Assurance) role at GE HealthCare is designed for graduates passionate about ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in healthcare technology. As part of the Healthcare Quality & Regulatory team, you will work on developing, implementing, and improving quality systems and processes that directly impact patient safety and product excellence.
This position offers a hands-on learning experience in healthcare regulations, quality management systems, and continuous process improvement methodologies, making it an ideal career starting point for freshers or early-career professionals.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Trainee Engineer at GE HealthCare, you will:
- Ensure 100% quality and regulatory compliance in all assigned functional areas.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve site-level process effectiveness and efficiency.
- Use Quality & Continuous Improvement tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, SPC, DOE, and Gauge R&R to drive process improvements.
- Develop process verification and validation plans, including Master Validation Plans and process flow diagrams.
- Support product and process improvement through failure analysis, CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Action), and remediation plans.
- Contribute to risk management activities, including PFMEA, DFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, and mitigation strategies.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive documentation (procedures, work instructions, templates, checklists, etc.) to ensure process compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support product/process design initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college (or high school diploma with relevant experience).
- 0–1 years of relevant experience in Quality, Engineering, or Healthcare.
Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of Quality Management System (QMS) tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of design controls, verification & validation, production & process controls, CAPA, complaints management, and risk management.
- Ability to apply Six Sigma, Design for Reliability (DFR), and product quality improvement techniques.
- Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Integrity and adherence to high ethical standards in decision-making and interactions.
