Internship Overview
This Software Engineering Internship offers 2027 pass-outs an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to cutting-edge projects at Cisco. As an intern, you will join one of our software engineering teams and work on real-world problems in domains such as:
- Networking Protocols
- Application Software
- Embedded & Systems Development
You’ll be part of a team driving next-gen innovations across cloud, security, mobile, and desktop applications, helping design solutions that transform digital experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs.
- Work on enhancements and new product features.
- Build tools supporting infrastructure, platforms, operating systems, and compilers.
- Gain exposure to routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
- Collaborate with experts across diverse teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Internship Tracks
Software Engineer – Networking Protocols
- Fundamentals of TCP/IP, routing, switching.
- Knowledge of network debugging tools.
- Basics of firewalls, VPN, IPS/IDS, IPsec, TLS.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Interest in network security and system optimization.
Software Engineer – Application Software
- Solid understanding of OOPs, Java/Python, and scalable app development.
- Knowledge of cloud-based applications.
- Familiarity with UI/UX design and debugging tools.
- Exposure to open-source projects or mobile app development (a plus).
Software Engineer – Embedded & Systems Development
- Strong knowledge of operating systems fundamentals.
- Exposure to kernel programming, device drivers, and BSPs.
- Proficiency in system-level debugging techniques.
- Emphasis on system programming and low-level design.
